Private airport pick-up and hotel transfers
We include airport pick up and drop off on most of our itineraries simply for convenience. Depending on your arrival time and your itinerary, we may suggest driving to a hotel outside the city right away. If your flight arrives in the morning or early afternoon, you can drive all the way to your first destination right away, saving a whole vacation day. If the idea of driving 3-4 hours right after landing doesn’t appeal to you, we suggest spending that first night at a hotel outside the city, so you avoid driving in traffic and save precious travel time the next day. We’ll arrange a private transfer or a van shuttle for you the next morning.
This service is available at Juan Santamaria and Liberia Airports or any other domestic airport in the country: Tamarindo, Manuel Antonio, Arenal, Nosara, etc.
Our driver will wait for you at the airport terminal exit, holding a sign with your name and the name of our company: Destino Tropical. We’ll monitor your flight status and make sure the driver is there at the time of your arrival in case of delays or changed/cancelled flights.
The airport shuttle service very inexpensive costing almost the same as a taxi ride. It is safer and more convenient than taxi as we use bigger vehicles and we’ll always be there waiting for you. We will drive you directly to where you are going, no bad surprises.
After clearing customs you’ll exit the terminal building and find yourself on the sidewalk, surrounded by a few drivers holding up signs with their passenger names as well as people waiting for their relatives and friends and taxi drivers offering their services. To avoid confusion we suggest you walk to the left side of the door, which is usually less crowded.
If you are stuck in customs or your luggage did not arrive, please go out to the door, or send one person in your party to look for our driver and let him know you are there. He’ll wait for you as long as it is necessary for you to deal with the missing luggage or customs officials.
